Dear Kat,

I want to take the opportunity to personally thank you for working with me to alleviate the severe back pain I’ve been experiencing for years.

When I came to you I was having difficulty sleeping at night due to muscle spasms and sciatic nerve pain that radiated down my legs.  I had spent thousands of dollars in chiropractic care and more thousands at a local spine clinic trying to avoid back surgery.

When I met you I did not have an expectation that exercise could help my back pain.  I came on a quest to simply get in shape as part of a weight loss program.  I picked you over several other physical trainers because your online bio highlighted your focus on working with seniors.

Your conversation with me was enlightening.  You started by talking in general terms about why it’s important for seniors to work on strengthening core muscle groups and bringing muscles into balance.  You also spoke extensively about the need to stretch and relax muscles for flexibility.

Most importantly at that first session, you gave me a specific exercise to stretch the muscles that were literally causing the extreme sciatic pain I was experiencing.   You explained how it worked and gave me the challenge to work it out.  The exercise was simple but I quickly realized how tight those muscles were.  You told me that if I was faithful to exercise those muscles every day, that I should experience a substantial reduction in the back pain and spasms.

I was faithful and to my great surprise, within one week much of the pain was gone.  What I thought was vertebrae pain

was actually a muscle tightening to the point of spasm.  The spasmed muscle choked the sciatic nerve creating the leg cramping and nerve discomfort, especially at night when trying to sleep.  Now, when I feel the tension in the muscle, I know what to do and it completely takes away the pain.  I don’t think I can convey my amazement at this.  My back pain is gone.

You need to write a book, Kat.  So many people can’t function with normal life activities because they are experiencing pain that is considered a ‘normal’ part of aging.  Well, working with you has dispelled that myth to me.  You have a very straightforward message that people need to hear.

I searched for anything that would keep me off a surgeon’s table and paid a lot of money for short term solutions.  You offered me a long term solution and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
