It's one of the most rewarding things about what I do.
Helping people get out of pain and recover their functional movement is a great thing.
It still blows me away at how quickly the body responds and begins to recover its youthful vitality. "Waking up" the nervous system and releasing fascial lines, breathes new life into the body.
A disjointed gait becomes springy and bouncy in a few sessions. Strength returns. The smooth movement of the joints return. Pain disappears.
There's also a nutritional component to recovery.
Like me, most of my clients are middle aged and above.
One of the challenges of this age group is optimizing nutrition so that the body can do deep repair. Digestion naturally declines with age. Connective and spongy tissue thins with age.
So supplementation is usually a part of the recovery plan. Here are 3 of my all-time favorites.
I know. Water is not considered a supplement. But without a very hydrated body, the odds are, you won't get the results you are looking for.
Let me give you an example.
The intervertebral disks loose their vascularization in your early twenties. Which means, these shock absorbers must rely on osmotic pressure to stay hydrated. During your waking hours you are generally vertical. Gravity compresses these disks. If you suffer from pain in the neck, back, or hips, you need to hydrate your disks during the day.
Once or twice a day, drink a large glass of pure water. Lay down right away for about 10 minutes. Your body will feel refreshed because pure water gets absorbed into the brain and spine ASAP. The disks are able to take a drink.
The rest of your body relies on water for every other function too. Make sure you get plenty of water.
2. Hydrolyzed Collagen.
I practice a plant-based lifestyle but I make an exception by taking this supplement. Bovine collagen supports the rebuilding of collagen in the body.
Collagen is found in all connective tissue. It gives tone to the skin. It is a major constituent of the protective cartilage found at the end of your bones. You can consider cartilage the opposite of a "bone on bone" situation.
Medical science claims that you cannot rebuild this tissue. Antidotally, I've seen the contrary. Dozens of my clients have kept their "bone on bone" joints...and have avoided replacement surgery.
Even decades later they are still living pain-free.
